Established in 2004 SBC is a company of independent financial and mortgage consultants based in Edinburgh, Scotland’s financial capital. Specialising in pensions, investments and the residential market but with options for commercial clients we operate in the whole of central Scotland and the Scottish Borders.

We offer full financial planning through our independent financial advisors and have introducer agreements with accountants, solicitors, surveyors and will writers to offer a full financial service, whatever your requirements. We have over 25 year’s experience in the financial services industry and our consultants are all qualified to a high standard.

Stuart Clark – Founder of SBC Financial

Stuart is the founder and former director of SBC Financial, Stuart originally worked in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, working in the power supply industry until 1990 when he switched his attentions to Financial Services where he has worked as a Financial Adviser, Sales Manager, Training and Compliance Manager, Branch Quality Adviser with Pearl Assurance until 2003 when they closed their sales force. Stuart then set up his own practice as a Mortgage Adviser with Nicol Cunningham prior and establishing SBC Mortgages in 2004 this was later changed to SBC Financial in 2008 when Stuart qualified as a level 4 advisor, and he continued to advise on all areas of Financial Services until retiring in 2021. Although no longer advising or having any direct client contact. Stuart can still be approached by Steven and Dionne for his industry knowledge.

Qualifications:
Certificate in Financial Planning 1, 2 & 3.
Certificate of Mortgage Advice and Practice.
CF7 Lifetime Mortgage Activities and HR1 Home Reversion.
Also level 4 Diploma exams RO1 and RO6

Dionne Clark – Independent Mortgage Consultant and Director

Dionne joined SBC in 2008 as Office Manager after working in the travel industry for 4 years and has qualified as a Mortgage Consultant 2012 giving
advice on all areas of mortgage planning including Buy to Let and protection as well as general insurance.
Dionne is keen to increase her knowledge of the industry by undertaking more exams.

Dionne’s Practice:
1. Dionne specialises in the Mortgage and protection market to ensure her clients always have the best mortgage product to suit their needs while
ensuring the property and family are adequately protected.
2. Dionne also offers her clients sound advice on their Insurance needs.

Steven O’Neill – Independent Financial Adviser

Steven is formally from retail management before switching to Financial Services with Standard Life in 1999. While at Standard Life, Steven supported clients, Financial Advisors, and solicitors through all aspects of the Mortgage application process, from sales to funds release. Steven originally joined SBC Financial formally SBC Mortgages as a Mortgage consultant and trainee Financial Advisor in 2007. In 2014 Steven joined Forth Financial Services covering all aspects of financial planning with his clients, prior to the practice sale and rebranding to Tenet&You. In 2019 Steven returned to SBC Financial taking over for the retiring Stuart Clark, and where Steven switched his mortgage business to Dionne to focus on pensions, protection, and investments.

Steven’s Practice:
1. Steven specialises in the pension market to ensure his clients always have the most appropriate options on retirement.
2. Steven also offers advice on all aspects of savings, investment and protection as a general practitioner in Financial Services.

Ben Cunningham – Office manager/Administrator

Ben is the Office Manager/Administrator. Ben is currently studying HND Business and hopes to continue onto the Degree with Honours. Ben recently joined SBC Financial in early 2022 working part time around his studying hours.

Jackie Clark – Office Support and maintenance

Jackie provides support ensuring all stationary and supplies are readily available and the general office is kept in good condition. Rarely seen and
working in the background Jackie is arguably the backbone of the office.
